Assistant Ginner / Ginner
- Permanent opportunity with Queensland Cotton, a recognised cotton industry leader — this is not a seasonal role

We are part of Olam Agri, a leading global food and agri-business. Our cotton gins process cotton into bales ready for export, with a strong focus on safety, quality, operational excellence and long-term relationships with growers and customers.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hardworking, reliable and mechanically minded individual for a permanent Assistant Ginner or Ginner role at our Wee Waa Cotton Gin. You’ll be part of a small, hands-on team, working across production, maintenance and day-to-day plant activities.
In this role, you will:
- Supervise a seasonal team during day or night shifts
- Help keep production running safely, efficiently and to required quality standards
- Monitor plant performance and respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime
- Carry out repairs, preventative maintenance and off-season plant preparation
- Support safe systems of work and contribute to a strong team culture
About you
Ginning experience would be highly regarded, but it is not essential. We also encourage applications from people with mechanical trade, maintenance, farming, machinery or production experience. If you are practical, safety-focused and willing to learn, we can provide training.
You’ll be a good fit if you bring:
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- A strong focus on safety and doing things the right way
- Reliability, resilience and the ability to work long shifts during the production season
- Confidence to think on your feet and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Respect for others and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- A team-focused approach, with a willingness to take ownership and support others
What we offer
- Contribute to the success of the Australian agricultural industry
- Experience varied tasks and hands-on work across production, repairs and maintenance
- Learn from an experienced site team, and build your cotton ginning knowledge
- Be recognised and rewarded for your contributions
- Be part of great team that takes pride in safety, reliability and high standards
