Corporate Commercial Manager
Our legal team is comprised of 27 legal professionals and 2 legal operations professionals based in 12 jurisdictions worldwide covering Australia, Africa (Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Nigeria), Asia (Singapore, India, China), Europe (Switzerland), Russia, Ukraine, and the United States.
The Singapore Group Legal team which oversees all jurisdictions & BUs is comprised of Ipsita Aggarwal (Group General Counsel), Sarah Boys (BU lawyer for Cotton, Rice, Rubber and Edible Oils) and Dan Cho (BU lawyer for Grains, Wood, PFB, Digital, Engine 2, Ventures, ESG), Candice Mok (Legal Manager). Tania Teng (Legal Counsel) and the Legal Compliance team.
Deven Chitaliya (Global Head of Legal Compliance) oversees the Legal Compliance and Ethical Business Program which address anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, and whistleblowing policies, and engages with the business to improve risk mitigation and controls and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory regimes.
Job Description
The role provides legal and commercial advice to support the business and mitigates risks in transactions.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal & commercial advisory to businesses & functions
- Legal drafting
- Review and negotiate contracts drafting and review.
- Undertake research to support advisory.
- Facilitate periodic review of laws and regulations.
- Provide support for special groupwide projects – Transaction advisory for mergers, acquisitions & divestitures, due diligences etc.
- Any other tasks assigned by Line Manager
Experience
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in law (minimum of second class lower).
- At least 5 years related experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate commercial legal practice
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail.
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Professionalism and high ethical standards
- Great team player to support cohesive operations in the Legal
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft office applications
- Good written & verbal communication skills.
