We’re one of the leading animal feed and day-old chick producers in Nigeria. We operate one of Nigeria's largest poultry feed mills and day-old-chick facilities in Kaduna State, and in Kwara state. Our aqua feed plant in Nigeria is the first in Sub-Saharan Africa, along with a poultry feed mill. Both these facilities are helping serve Nigeria’s expanding poultry and aquaculture sectors.
To strengthen and expand our animal feed and protein capabilities in West Africa, while generating synergies with its wheat milling business in Senegal we recently acquired Avisen SARL  a major suppliers of feed, with its facility located in Rufisque producing over 100,000 metric tons (MT) of feed annually.

Job Description

The HR Business Partner at Olam Agri serves a pivotal role, acting as a strategic bridge between human resource functions and business operations. This position is crucial in aligning HR initiatives with the company’s overarching business goals, fostering a culture of continuous performance improvement, talent development, and employee engagement aligned with Olam Agri’s mission and values.

As a trusted advisor and change facilitator, you will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify workforce needs and develop strategic people solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Through influencing and driving initiatives related to talent acquisition, retention, succession planning, and capability building, you will help shape a resilient and adaptable workforce.

Your role also involves navigating complex employee relations matters with sensitivity and compliance, ensuring policies and labour laws are adhered to, thus supporting a positive and inclusive workplace environment. You will leverage HR analytics to generate actionable insights that drive decision-making and contribute to continuous improvements in employee productivity and satisfaction.

This role demands a combination of strong business acumen, HR expertise, and exceptional interpersonal skills to build credibility and influence across multiple levels of the organisation. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to assess and anticipate workforce requirements, ensuring HR strategies effectively support business plans.
  • Lead talent management efforts including implementing robust performance management processes, facilitating succession planning, and promoting professional development initiatives.
  • Oversee employee relations by managing concerns promptly and fairly, maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable labour legislation.
  • Contribute to workforce planning and organizational design endeavors to optimize structure and efficiency.
  • Utilize HR analytics to monitor key performance indicators, providing insights and recommendations to enhance employee engagement and organizational performance.
  • Coordinate with specialized HR teams such as compensation, learning and development, and recruitment to deliver cohesive and integrated human resources solutions.

Experience

8 10 years of proven HR generalist experience with demonstrated track record and good working knowledge of employment laws and employment regulatory practices. Ability to build strategic partnerships. Build relationships internally and externally. Collaborates across the organization to maximize outcomes Excellent communication skills verbal and written, should be able to communicate fluently in English.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field MBA or Postgraduate qualification in HR or Organizational Development preferred
